My name is Myrtle Lewis and I am running for the Thornton Planning Board for a three-year term.
I have regularly been attending the Thornton Planning Board meetings to better understand construction activities and projects that are going on in Thornton. As the Chair of the Thornton Conservation Commission, I regularly review construction projects that require wetlands permits or Alteration of Terrain permits. It has been helpful to attend the Planning Board meetings to get more detailed information about these projects and the applicable rules and regulations. I have been an alternate on the Planning Board and was encourage by the members to run for one of the open positions on the Planning Board
I moved to New Hampshire in 2017 when I retired. I worked for 36 years in pollution control and environmental management for research and manufacturing companies in Southern California.
I see my role on the Thornton Planning Board as a representative of the Town of Thornton, to make sure applicable requirements are met on the local and state level, for the benefit of the town and the landowners. Further, I support the natural resources of Thornton and wish to maintain the rural landscape of this town. I enjoy living in Thornton and my goal is to make this town a better place, through my efforts.
Thanks for your support.
Myrtle Lewis
